Mercedes C class AMG Specification and features

Engine

The C 63 AMG is powered by an AMG V8 naturally aspirated engine with an output of 336 kW and up to 600 Nm torque. The unit delivers outstanding acceleration figures: in just 4.4 seconds from a standstill to 100 km/h (and with the optional Performance package 4.3 seconds).
  • The combination: the engine's high displacement and impressive high-speed concept enable it to deliver a performance at motor sports level at all times.
  • Optimised engine management: the requirements of the Euro 5 emissions class can be met in this high output engine version, too.
Transmission

The new AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with which the C 63 AMG is equipped, impresses through its great diversity and efficiency. With AMG aluminium steering wheel gearshift paddles, four driving programmes and the Race-Start function, the new 7-speed automatic transmission makes a 10-percent consumption reduction over the preceding model possible, accompanied by enhanced driving dynamics and greater efficiency.
The "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport Plus), "C" (Comfort) and "M" (Manual) modes each have different gear-change characteristics and speeds:

Gear changes in "S" and "S+" modes are around 20 or 40 percent swifter than in "C" mode respectively – while in "M" mode gear changes take just 100 milliseconds, making them some 50 percent faster. A push of a button activates the desired driving mode: distinctly sporty or more comfort-oriented.

There is the automatic double-declutching function when downshifting, which provides an emotional sound experience as well as reducing power-off effects. This function has a positive effect when braking on the approach to bends in particular.

Dynamic Handling

With the Dynamic Handling package with sports driving mode it is possible to choose between a comfortable suspension setting and an excitingly sporty suspension setting.
With sports mode selected, the system adjusts the firmness of the damping and even sharpens the accelerator response so that you feel the response from the engine more acutely. Or you can choose the standard mode and enjoy a particularly smooth and comfortable ride.

Regardless of the driving mode you select, the electronically regulated damping system always adjusts to the driving situation and road conditions. This increases the road roar and tyre vibration characteristics and driving safety, particularly the vehicle's agility.

One part of the dynamic handling package is its speed-sensitive sports steering. By changing the steering characteristic, it provides a particularly sporty steering sensation.
